Event Details
The AARP Tax-Aide Program prepares free basic federal and state returns for middle and low-income taxpayers with a special focus on people 60 and older. AARP will be offering this program at the Mukwonago Community Library on Mondays from February 6, 2023 through April 10, 2023. You do NOT need a membership with AARP to take part in the program. Appointment length may be up to one hour.
You can register online, over the phone, or at the Library starting Monday, January 9, at Noon.
THINGS TO REMEMBER:
- AARP will NOT be taking walk-ins. You MUST register for a timeslot through the Library’s website, calling the Information Desk at (262) 363-6411 or coming into the Library.
- There will NOT be a waitlist.
- The AARP does not require masks but asks that you follow local COVID-19 protocols:
- By entering this facility, you are acknowledging that you have not tested positive for COVID-19 or been in close contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days.
- Likewise, by entering this facility, you are acknowledging that you are not experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, including without limitation, fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting and diarrhea.
- If you miss your appointment for any reason, you will have to register again.
Once you have signed up for a timeslot, please stop by the Mukwonago Community Library to pick up an AARP Tax Intake Form to fill out in advance and bring with you to your appointment.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING WITH YOU:
- AARP Tax Intake Form
- Last Year’s Taxes
- This Year’s Tax Documents (W2’s, etc.)
- Photo ID, Joint Return, Spouse Photo ID (if you have children claimed as dependents, a copy of their social security card.)
- Social Security Card or proof of Social Security Number.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment. The appointment will take place at the Mukwonago Community Library in the Community Room. A volunteer will check you in and direct you to your tax preparer. They will review your documents and confirm any additional information they need to prepare your taxes. The process will take roughly 45-60 minutes.
